Africa Day 2017, Dublin celebrations were held at Farmleigh Estate at the Phoenix Park on Sunday, 21st May, 2017 from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm.
It was a busy event, bursting with family-friendly activities. Families enjoyed a showcase of African music and dance, food culture and craft, including performances across different stages. The Irish Minister of state for the Diaspora and International Development Joe McHugh, T.D. who joined families for the fun day took time to visit the Kenya Embassy exhibition stand. The Minister was accompanied by the Mayor of Fingal County Council, Cllr. Darragh Butler (FF). The Ambassador H. E. Mr. Richard A. Opembe was at hand to receive them.
