The Fifth Africa-Ireland Forum (AIEF5) took place on 17th June 2016 at The Convention Centre in Dublin. The Forum brought together over 300 participants representing business, government, policy makers and civil society of both Africa and Ireland.
The event was organized by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in partnership with African Embassies resident in Ireland. The Kenya delegation of eighteen business representative organisations was led by Dr Chris Kiptoo, Principal Secretary for International Trade, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives.
High level speakers at the event included: Ms Mary Mitchell O’Connor T.D., Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation; Mr. Joe McHugh T.D., Minister of State for the Diaspora and International Development; Andrew Doyle T.D., Minister of State for Food, Forestry and Horticulture; Mr Charles Boamah, Vice President of the African Development Bank; Senator Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation of Nigeria; Dr Chris Kiptoo, Principal Secretary for International Trade, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives, Kenya; and Dr Nelson Magbagbeola, Secretary General of the Parliament of the Economic Community of West African States, amongst many others.
