On Saturday, 3rd May 2015, H. E. Ambassador Richard Opembe held a meeting with the Kenya Diaspora within Ireland at their first investments group discussion on the way forward for TREASURE IRELAND INVESTMENT GROUP in County Galway.
The Kenya Embassy in Ireland through H. E. the Ambassador briefed them on the investment opportunities available in Kenya and the firms that have created tailor made Diaspora financing options inclusive of real estate investment projects. Both banks and the corporate sector are targeting with the facilitation of the government major investment initiatives to make good use of the remittances, which in 2014 exceeded Ksh.115 billion, making the diaspora the highest income earner to the economy surpassing the traditional contributors of tourism and agro-based incomes. The diaspora is the most important human resource outside Kenya and an important contributor to the national economy.
