The Kenya Diaspora Policy was launched on 20th January 2015 as a pioneer policy in recognition of the urgent need to mainstream the Kenya Diaspora into the national development process in line with the aspirations and goals of the Vision 2030.
Since the policy was launched in 2015, circumstances have changed necessity the review.
The National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee (NDICC) has directed Policy review to amongst others, ensure maximization of the diaspora potential, enhance its involvement in national development process and safeguard their protection.
Towards this end, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has initiated the review process to address gaps, implementation challenges, identify new and emerging issues as well as explore ways to strengthen the role of the Foreign Ministry in the coordination of diaspora affairs.
For the review to be successful, the Embassy invites Kenyans in Ireland to contribute in the process by sharing their input, ideas and recommendations as well as pointing out potential areas, emerging issues and best practices for consideration and inclusion in the new policy.
