Our Mission & Staff
Meet the diplomatic and consular team serving Kenyans in Ireland.
Our Mission & Staff
The Embassy is led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, supported by a team of diplomatic, consular, and administrative staff covering political affairs, trade and investment, consular services, and community engagement.
For the Ambassador's welcome message and background, see the homepage or contact the Embassy directly for specific staff enquiries.
On behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Ireland, I extend a warm Karibu (welcome) to our website.
Amb. George Morara Orina is a career diplomat with extensive professional experience in the Public and Foreign Service of the Republic of Kenya, with a distinguished record built across the United Nations System, the African Union, and Kenya's missions abroad.
Amb. Orina joined the Foreign Service in 2007 and has held mid-level and senior leadership portfolios both at the Ministry Headquarters and at Kenya's missions abroad, including First Counsellor at the Kenya Mission to the United Nations in New York, Minister Counsellor at the Permanent Mission to UNEP and the UN Office in Nairobi, and Ambassador/Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Kenya, Addis Ababa. He went on to serve as Director, Africa and AU Directorate, then Director-General for Multilateral and International Affairs, and Director-General for Bilateral and Political Affairs at the Ministry Headquarters.
In February 2026, Ambassador Orina was appointed Kenya's Ambassador to Ireland, moving from his previous posting as Kenya's envoy to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union. He officially assumed his duties in Dublin after presenting his credentials to the President of Ireland.
Ambassador Orina holds a Master of Arts in International Public Administration from London Metropolitan University and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from the University of Nairobi, and is a recipient of the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (M.B.S.) in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Foreign Service.
I look forward to strengthening the warm and historic ties between Kenya and Ireland, and to serving our community here with dedication and pride.
