Job Title: ICT Officer
Reports to: Head of Mission / Administrative Officer / ICT Manager
Duty Station: Embassy/High Commission of Kenya

Key responsibilities

Manage and maintain the Embassy’s computers, servers, networks, printers and other ICT infrastructure.
Provide first- and second-level technical support to diplomatic, administrative and consular staff.
Install, configure and maintain hardware, operating systems and approved software.
Administer LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, email and other communication systems.
Monitor network performance, availability and cybersecurity.
Implement ICT security controls, access management, antivirus/endpoint protection and data-backup procedures.
Troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity problems and resolve incidents promptly.
Maintain ICT asset registers, licences, inventories and technical documentation.
Support video conferencing, virtual meetings and diplomatic events.
Assist with websites, digital services and information-management systems where required.
Ensure regular backups, disaster-recovery arrangements and business continuity for critical systems.
Liaise with Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs and relevant ICT service providers on technical matters.
Advise Embassy management on ICT procurement, upgrades and technology risks.
Train staff on ICT systems, cybersecurity and acceptable-use practices.
Maintain confidentiality and security of official and diplomatic information.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
Relevant professional ICT certification is an advantage.
Experience in network/system administration, technical support and cybersecurity.
Good knowledge of Microsoft 365/Windows, networking, hardware and backup systems.
Strong troubleshooting, communication and customer-service skills.
Ability to work with sensitive information and in a diplomatic environment.
